Anyone got a used small (86 series) AGM or other battery needed to last only for HRW and a couple weeks after..?
I know this is a small chance. The 105 AmpHr AGM battery that does all our electricals on our Sonata 7 trailer-sailer “Rhapsody” is dying quite quickly as we sail to Hamilton from Mackay for HRW.
We are swapping to a lithium system once back in Adelaide so we are definitely not wanting to buy a new AGM.
We will be looking around Hamilton for a used working AGM or other sealed battery to see us through HRW and two weeks after that, so nothing fantastically good is needed.
Have chatted with the Hamilton Is chandlery and will check there, but they probably don’t have anything, having just sent a pallet of removed and dead batteries back to the mainland earlier this week.
Note that for most yachts this is quite a small battery - battery box is approx. 360 x 180mm, more like a car battery size than a standard yacht house-battery size.
Any possibilities, suggestions greatly welcomed !
